Secondary analyses of results from international surveys PIRLS 2011, TIMSS 2011 and PISA 2012

In September 2014 the Czech School Inspectorate in cooperation with experts from the Charles University in Prague elaborated more detailed analyses of international surveys PIRLS 2011, TIMSS 2011 and PISA 2012.

Analyses of results from surveys PIRLS 2011 and TIMSS 2011 were focused on differences in results between individual schools and classes on the first stage of elementary schools, furthermore the focus was on the social factors in achieved results as well as on outcome differences between boys and girls. Moreover, popularity of reading and math among pupils in fourth grades and the topic of self- reflection of pupils in schools was analysed.  In addition to that the analysis of results from the PISA 2012 survey dealt with the influence of socio-economic background of Czech pupils; comparison of pupils with excellent and poor results in math; the link between pupils‘ achievements and computer technology equipment; and strengths and weaknesses of Czech pupils in solving various problems.
